Whenever we hear from developer Backflip, we know we're going to have to raise our success expectations some more.
Quietly building up its catalog on the back of the initial success of Paper Toss, the company now has a massive community playing its simple arcade games.
And, in the process of converting its existing iPhone titles to Android and iPad, those big numbers seem to be growing ever faster.
Nation of millions
Backflip now boasts over 65 million downloads of its games across iOS and Android.
More important however, in November, it had over 20 million active users, while its daily active user total is over 2 million.
To put that into some sort of context, ngmoco has done 60 million downloads of its games on iOS and claims 13.5 million active users on its Plus+ social network.
Upsell them
Still, Backflip continues to tinker with its business model.
Although mainly driven by advertising, because this is combined with cross selling, it hasn't given up on paid games.
It's releasing a premium version of its NinJump games, which has done seven million free downloads.
NinJump Deluxe will cost 99c, and ship with two new levels and entirely new graphics, bonuses, particle effects, enemies and music. It will also be regularly supported with new levels.
