December 25 is well known as a peak period for the activation of consumer electronics, so it's no surprise that cross platform mobile social network OpenFeint saw its best ever day last week.
The absolute figures remain impressive though. It added 450,000 new users on Christmas day, which was up 184 percent on its daily average.
In total, OpenFeint added nearly 1.4 million new users over the four day period, up 88 percent compared to the same period in 2009.
Nation of millions
More than five million OpenFeint games were downloaded, with the Android daily download average up 73 percent and iOS by 187 percent.
"Heading into 2011, we expect our 55 million-strong user base to continue showing impressive growth as it has been," said Peter Relan, chairman of OpenFeint.
"We've grown six-fold since the beginning of last year and look forward to growing the largest mobile social gaming network."
