Stonetrip and Ideaworks Labs integrate ShiVa3D engine and Airplay SDK
Continuing to build out an integrated approach to mobile game development, UK middleware outfit Ideaworks Labs and French outfit Stonetrip have linked up their engines.

This means that Stonetrip's ShiVa3D and Ideaworks' Airplay SDK can now be connected, allowing ShiVa3D developers to port their games to iOS, Android, bada, Palm webOS, Maemo, Symbian and Windows Mobile. Conversely, Airplay SDK developers can now make full use of ShiVa3D's engine and editor.

The integration has already been used to bring RPG Crusade of Destiny to Symbian and bada.

Jopacus Parrott, CEO of its developer DVide Arts commented: "We were amazed at how easy it was to deploy our game to bada using the new integration of ShiVa3D with Airplay SDK – it really is seamless. We've already been able to make Crusade of Destiny available to millions more customers by submitting to the Samsung Apps store, and the Nokia Ovi Store should follow shortly."

The masters' voice

"It makes perfect sense for us to team up with Ideaworks Labs and to make ShiVa3D more accessible to developers using Airplay SDK," said Stonetrip CEO Philip Belhassen. "And it gives us new platforms as well, strengthening our position as the best integrated multi-platform engine on the market."

Completing the love-in, Ideaworks' president Alex Caccia added, "Today's announcement is further evidence that a growing number of respected third party tools are integrating with Airplay SDK to increase their reach and provide the best possible environment for multi-platform deployment and development."

You can find out more about the respective platforms via the Stonetrip website and the Ideaworks Labs' website.
