Android a struggling platform for developers? OpenFeint is having none of it.
Nine months since the games network launched on Google's OS, the company claims it is signing up an average of 3 million new users every month.
OpenFeint, which was acquired by Japanese social gaming giant GREE for $104 million in April, believes an acceleration in iOS studios porting their titles to Android an act OpenFeint itself has a hand in is a major factor in the platform's success on its new home.
Games galore
"Developers want tools for better engagement, more ways to make money, and effective distribution channels to reach players," said SVP of marketing Eros Resmini.
"We're happy that developers continue to see value in OpenFeint's cross platform feature set. Were committed to building the best tools in the business."
In the last two months alone, the company's library on Android has expended by 145 titles, or 46 percent.
OpenFeint also plans to add a further 16 games to its line-up including titles from Glu, HandyGames and Godzilab - bringing its total to 460.
The full roster includes:
Abyss Attack (Deep Byte Studios)
