Three months after it was first unveiled, Buckle Up Game Studios has been named as the latest outfit to benefit from Joystick Labs' accelerator program for small studios.
Buckle Up, which was founded by Kory Sherman and Chris Snyder when both parties were working together on Wake Technical Community College's game program, is the seventh developer in all to join the program.

Originally conceived as a class project, the studio's first release dubbed Flipped - will be a puzzle game pitched at mobile devices, utilising both physics based play and the phone's accelerometer.
"We had a great idea for our game, but did not have the resources to focus on full-time development or the business expertise to form a studio," said Sherman.
"The Joystick Labs program provides opportunities and resources that will accelerate the development of our studio and our first title."
Flipped is one of seven games developed by Joystick teams due out before the end of the year.
Other entrepreneurial developers interested in taking advantage of Joystick's offer of early-stage seed funding, mentorship, services, and networking should visit the firm's website.
