The visually impressive Infinity Blade franchise has arrived on DeNA's Mobage platform in Japan, in the form of iOS free-to-play social game Infinity Blade Cross.
The title is Japan-only and is available for Mobage Japan account holders through the Japanese App Store.
The new title will feature the same sword swiping gameplay mechanic which proved successful in the first two entries to the series, which has so far generated $30 million in revenue.
Don't be cross
Infinity Blade Cross was co-developed by Epic Games and ChAIR Entertainment, with Japanese developer iNiS Corporation also contributing as a developing partner for the local version.
This game marks the third significant franchise to hit DeNA's Mobage platform, after Monster Hunter and Final Fantasy arrived in early 2012.
Square Enix's Final Fantasy Brigade managed to surpass 1 million players over its first 26 days.
