Lenovo is looking to be the first manufacturer to launch a Windows 8 tablet.
An unnamed source has told The Verge that the Chinese OEM is preparing a device ready for an October debut the date when Lenovo expects Microsoft to roll out its latest OS.

The tablet itself remains under wraps, though speculation suggests the 13.3-inch Lenovo IdeaPad unveiled at CES 2012 which features a 360 degree hinge to allow for laptop configuration could well be the device in question.
The news comes after Nokia design chief Marko Ahtisaari confirmed the Finnish manufacturer was working on a Windows 8 device, while rival Dell has told Bloomberg it will also have a tablet ready for day one.
Other OEMs in the running to launch Windows 8 tablets include HP and Asus.
