Wants to hook up with ambitious indies

Indian publisher Playcaso comes out of stealth mode, launching games and its publishing program
There are plenty of publishing programs available for indie mobile studios to hook up with.

But Indian-start up Playcaso think it can offer something different.

The Mumbai company has been running in stealth mode for the past couple of months, incubated and backed by well known Indian publisher and distributor Nazara.

Now, however, it's formally launched its own games as well as the Playcaso Publishing Program.

Significantly, despite its experience in the local Indian market, this isn't a regional play. Instead Playcaso has the ambition to take the games it publishes to a global market.

It says it already has half a dozen game signed up, with its first two internally-developed titles Smell Raiser and Tap Tap Sushi now out on iOS and Android.

"The publishing program is an attempt to assist indie developers globally to build and promote their games effectively," explained Playcaso's COO Ninad Chhaya.

"There are a lot of developers who have the talent and the potential to build fantastic games but fall short somewhere due to lack of resources, funds or publishing experience."
