What will Apple be showing at WWDC in just over a week's time?
9to5Mac reckons it knows.
It says the next iPhone (the new iPhone?) will look a lot like the iPhone 4/S with redesigned back plate and unibody construction.
Spec-wise, the display is thought to be 1,136 x 640 resolution (Retina resolution on a 4-inch diagonal screen), compared to 960 x 460 for the physically smaller 3.5-inch iPhone 4S.
Gutted
It will be running a variant of Apple's A5 chip. As ever, the major components of this are a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 and a GPU from Imagination Technologies.
This is labelled as SGX543RC, so likely will be similar to the dual-core PowerVR SGX543MP2 that currently powers the A5 chip used in iPhone 4S. The new iPad uses a quad-core version.
The chip is also thought to have 1GB of RAM. Obviously, it will be running iOS 6. One interesting question still be leaked is whether it will be clocked at 1 GHz as with iPhone 4S.
It's expected that the new OS and device will be announced at WWDC on 11 June, with likely retail availability in the fall.
