Having been one of the focal points during PlayStation's glory days, Sony CEO Kaz Hirai has resigned as chairman of Sony Computer Entertainment.
Hirai now looks set to focus on his role as Sony CEO - having taken on the position back in April - though he will remain on SCE's board in a part-time capacity.

The news comes as Bloomberg reports both Hirai and former CEO Sir Howard Stringer were denied their end of year bonuses following losses made in Sony's Bravia TV business.
Hirai has vowed to accelerate his planned reforms at the company as a result, with Sony having posted a $5.7 billion loss in the year ending 31 March.
"We take the problem Sony's electronics business is facing very seriously, and we feel a sense of crisis," Hirai told shareholders at a shareholder meeting.
His new measures won shareholder approval, though reports suggest Hirai and other executives were confronted by angry shareholders openly criticising both his and Stringer's record at the company.
Hirai unveiled his new 'One Sony' vision back in March, with Sony Mobile set to integeate R&D, design engineering, sales and marketing operations of is smartphone business as a result.
