Back in August, we reported on a Sega-lead cross-promotional network of game makers set to launch in Japan.
At the time, 15 Japanese mobile game companies were committed to the network - which aimed to push players from one game to the next. New data, however, suggests 30 firms are now on board, with another 25 considering participation.
Said network, dubbed 'Noah Pass', is free for game makers to use, and has no upward cap for the number of companies that can participate in it.
Discovery's the game
The main draw of Noah Pass is discovery, as it allows players to discovery new games without having to register for a service.
Instead, games display ads for other games in the network thus driving traffic from one title to another.
Developers, too, are free from tying their games to specific networks such as GREE, DeNA or LINE, instead pushing their titles in other games without spending cash.
As such, Sega expects Noah Pass to reduce advertising costs for new smartphone games by up to 80 percent.
