Russian developer ZeptoLab has launched an international, online competition for game designers, appropriately titled the Game Designer Challenge.
The contest challenges professional and amateur designers to three tasks, the first of which involves a 22-question quiz, while rounds two and three will focus on creative tasks and specific design challenges.
The winners of each round will progress to the next, and the overall winner will receive a trip to GDC 2016, paid for by ZeptoLab, while two runners-up will receive Apple devices.
The next big thing
"Unfortunately, nowadays there aren’t a lot of contests aimed at game designers, which prevents the exchange of experience and objective assessment of their own knowledge and skills," said Semyon Voinov, creative director and co-founder of ZeptoLab.
"We decided to correct this mistake and organized ZeptoLab Game Designer Challenge."
Voinov will join fellow co-founder Efim Voinov and game designer Sergei Maslennikov to judge the competition, which they hope will become an annual event.
Registration is open during the first task, which ends on February 7th, and you can see if you've got what it takes by heading over to the official website.
