US comic, actor, productor Kevin Hart has signed a deal with Lionsgate and Hong Kong developer Fifth Journey for a social adventure mobile game.
Part of a larger TV and video-on-demand service, the game will be in vein of Glu's celebrity games, as players take the role of a rising comedic rock star with Hart as their mentor.
For its part, Fifth Journey is a new studio founded by Universal Pictures, Gameloft and LucasArts veterans and funded by Hollywood studios Universal Pictures, Lionsgate and MGM.
As well as this deal, it's also currently working on a game based on The Expendables films.
Little man, big boots
With over 80 million followers on social media, Hart certainly brings a lot of marketing potential to the deal.
His current What Now? tour is said to be the biggest-grossing comedy tour of all time.
"The Kevin Hart brand speaks for itself, and his combination of creative brilliance and financial acumen position Laugh Out Loud and his social game to continue expanding his global fan base while introducing his comedic genius to a whole new online audience," commented Hart's business partner Jeff Clanagan.
