Nintendo has unveiled details of its longly awaited next mobile game Animal Crossing Pocket Camp.
The title first teased back in April 2016 will now launch in late November 2017 on the App Store and Google Play.
Campsite manager
Animal Crossing Pocket Camp tasks players with building and managing a campsite. Users can craft furniture, amenities and other items that they and their animal friends can interact with.
Other activities include making friends, fishing, gathering fruit and collecting bugs, while players can also furnish their own camper van, head to the local marketplace to purchase items, and visit other areas such as the beach or nearby forest. You'll also be able to head to other players' campsites and become friends with them.
The title will take place in real-time, meaning if you play at night, it will be night time in the game.
Animal Crossing Pocket Camp will be free-to-play and include in-app purchases. Pre-registration for the game has already begun on Google Play.
Nintendo’s previous mobile titles have experimented with various business models. Platformer Super Mario Run was free-to-start with a one-off payment after just a few levels, a model that proved controversial amongst players.
Fire Emblem Heroes meanwhile used the free-to-play model with in-app purchases. The game is thought to have made more than $100 million to date.
