Gameloft has partnered with Island Records to bring early noughties emo legends Fall Out Boy to the 25th update for its game Asphalt 8: Airborne.
The partnership adds a new story mode dedicated entirely to the band, with players interacting with the band members and completing challenges for their latest world tour. Three songs from Fall Out Boy's latest album will also be available to listen to within the game.
Players who take part in the event can earn a new BMW M2 Special Edition car for their digital garage. 20 fans will also win a signed CD copy of Fall Out Boy's latest album.
An intense experience
"Thanks to this partnership, we offer players an intense racing experience and allow Universal to reach the captive audience of Asphalt 8: Airborne fans who play every day," said Gameloft senior vice president of sales & marketing Baudouin Corman.
"Asphalt 8: Airborne was released 5 years ago and continues to innovate and engage fans from all over the world by always offering new content."
Gameloft has also partnered with Honor to launch an esports tournament for its game Modern Combat Versus. It is reported to have recently closed its New Orleans studio, affecting up to 40 jobs at the developer.
