It’s a little over two weeks until Pocket Gamer Connects London brings the industry together from January 21st to 22nd.
As always, we’re getting ready by running down the panels and presentations that’ll feature in this year’s event tracks.
Kicking things off, we’re taking a look at the innovators in our Game Changers - Hyper-casual track. Taking place on January 21st, this new track will explore how developers can take advantage of the rising popularity of the hyper-casual genre and the emerging messenger platforms.

09:40: In this Superstar Session, Facebook will present a must-see talk entitled ‘The Changing The Face Of Social Games’.
10:00: Why Go Hyper? Tabtable’s chief strategy and M&A officer Alon Pastor starts the track proper, answering the question: why go hyper-casual? And how do you approach this space if you’re new to the genre?
10:20: Post App Store – The Future of Game Distribution. FRVR founder Chris Benjaminsen dives into what he believes is the future of games distribution.
10:40: Gamee CEO Bozena Rezab will discuss ‘What We Learned About Hyper-casual Games From 3 Billion Gameplays Across 70 Games’.
11:00: A fireside chat with Nifty Games CEO Jon Middleton: Creating Enticing Sports Games With Short And Fast Play Time.
11:40: MojiWorks CEO Matthew Wiggins presents a session called ‘Building Entertainment Through Emerging Platforms’.
12:00: Growth On Messenger – What We Learnt From The Success Of Ludo Club. Moonfrog Labs product manager Vasavadatta Trivikrama will discuss what the studio learned from taking Ludo Club on Facebook Instant Games and achieving 10 million monthly active users.
12:20: Keys For Success In Hyper-casual And Messenger Games. We’ve got a host of expert panelists dealing at their astute advice in this must-attend session. Panelists include Softgames CEO Alexander Krug, Applovin EMEA MD Simon Spaull, Gamejam CEO Christian Calderon, Cobra Mobile CEO Mark Ettle and Gamezop co-founder Gaurav Agarwal.
