Player X buys Gaelco Moviles

This year they're off to sunny Spain...

Player X buys Gaelco Moviles
UK-based publisher/aggregator Player X has acquired Spanish mobile games firm Gaelco Moviles, to bolster its European distribution ambitions.

The acquisition is the first step towards splitting Player X's publishing and aggregation businesses, which will now be known as Player X Distribution and Studio X.

Player X isn't the first company to take this kind of move. In-Fusio famously split its publishing and distribution arms several years ago. Although hopefully that's not an omen, given the way that business developed.

The deal also ramps up Player X's channels in Southern Europe and Latin America. Gaelco will maintain its Madrid office.
