Chinese firm Hurray! has announced plans to launch eight new mobile games in China during the third quarter of this year.
The announcement came as the company revealed Q2 revenues of $12.8 million, and a year-on-year fall in its revenues from mobile content (or what it terms 'wireless value-added services').
Hurray made $9.2 million from WVAS in Q2 this year, down 27.9 per cent year-on-year. However, it seems the company sees games as a key way to turn this slump around.
During Q2 this year, it released five games on Chinese operator China Mobile, including Legend of the Night Assassin, My 72 Transformations, and Heavy Metal World 2.
Bumping its roadmap up to eight titles in Q3 may capitalise on the growth in the Chinese mobile gaming market.
However, Hurray! says it still expects its total revenues to be in the $12-13 million bracket for Q3.
