The latest iPhone publisher to swap cash for visibility is Hudson Entertainment, the US arm of the Japanese publisher that's owned by Konami.
Every Thursday, it's going to be giving away, or cutting the price of an iPhone game for a week. Notification will be made via the company's Twitter feed.
The first game is Crayon Physics Deluxe, which has been dropped in price from $4.99 to 99c,
It will be followed thorough February by Moon Dancer, Slyder Adventures, Catch The Egg and Cake Mania 3.
Further titles will be announced in March.
"This is a great opportunity for gamers to experience a wide variety of iPhone and iPod touch games for just a few bucks, or even free," said Yoko Tsumagari, VP of Mobile Games at Hudson Entertainment.
"Hudson's diverse offerings such as Crayon Physics Deluxe and the popular Sudoku games are must-haves for iPhone and iPod touch users, and now they are more accessible than ever.
