Atari has pushed back announcing the semi-finalists for its Pong Indie Developer Challenge until 1 May.
The semi-finalists were due to be announced tomorrow but an overwhelming number of entrants has set progress back a week.
87 entrants picked up the gauntlet and pitched an iOS re-imagining of the 1972 arcade classic.
20 will selected from a panel of judges including Atari founder Nolan Bushnell, Bolt Creative's Dave Castelnuovo, AOL editor Mike Schramm, and Simutronic's CEO David Whatley.
On your marks
The 20 finalists will then have 28 days to prepare a game build and video trailer for their projects, before the final round of the competition kicks in during July.
One winner will walk away with a three-year revenue-share publishing agreement including marketing and PR support, as well as cash funding of up to $100,000 and cash prizes worth as much as $50,000.
The grand winner is set to be crowned on 2 August.
