One of the many stories lost in the GDC 2013 rush (but worth recapping), Polish outfit Game Technologies has launched the developer support site for DICE+.
It's a fascinating game peripheral - announced at E3 2012 - that combines the tactile joy of rolling dice with Bluetooth connectivity and other electronic smarts.
These include a microUSB port for charging, an accelerometer, six independent touch-sensitive faces and a thermometer.
Back to the future
Obviously, this is a big thing for developers making touchscreen games that already use dice for their gameplay, or those who make games based on board games.
You can get your DICE+ now for $99, including worldwide shipping.
Consumer DICE+ will be available for pre-order in summer 2013, as the company explains it's now found 'further investment to increase its original production number from tens of thousands to half of a million units'.
This is expected to ensure pricing is around sub-$50.
