Mobile games publisher GlobalFun has announced that it's nominated Sony Ericsson's head of special projects Mikael Nerde to join its board of directors.
Nerde is best known to the industry for his role as head of applications acquisitions and content planning at the handset maker.
This included leading the team that launched Sony Ericsson's mobile developer program, and working on the company's embedded content strategy.
"Mr Nerde is very well known and highly respected in the games community," says GlobalFun board chairman Johan Christenson. "We are confident that his expertise and connections in the mobile games industry will be a great asset for us."
Nerde is equally complimentary, saying that GlobalFun is "the most interesting mobile games company in Sweden today". His aim is to help the company become an international industry player.
He's certainly familiar with the publisher, since GlobalFun is one of two aggregators used by Sony Ericsson for its PlayNow Arena content portal.
