GlobalFun has announced that it'll be one of two "main official content acquisition partners" for Sony Ericsson's PlayNow Arena and Fun & Downloads services.
Sony Ericsson hasn't announced who the other will be, and it's unclear what exactly the role entails presumably aggregation of games from publishers who don't have direct relationships with Sony Ericsson.
It's also not clear how many direct deals the handset firm will make, or how it will split developers and publishers between the two aggregator partners.
Still, it's good news for GlobalFun, which has been working with Sony Ericsson for five years now.
"We have since the beginning of our business aimed to provide our customers, of which SonyEricsson is a highly valued one, with high quality premium content," says Bertil Krumnack, EVP of sales and business development at GlobalFun.
"This appointment serves for us as a proof that our strategy on content acquisition and account management has been and still is the correct one."
