Samsung's Galaxy Nexus Prime specs leaked ahead of official announcement on October 11
Not to be outdone by Apple's recent iPhone 4S announcement, Samsung is due to reveal its upcoming Galaxy Nexus Prime smartphone at the Unpacked event in San Diego on Tuesday October 11.

That's just one day before Apple's iOS 5 is due to land. It's also been whispered that it's the same day the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) OS update will be revealed.

Ahead of that announcement, the handset has had its specifications leaked online, via Boy Genius Report, along with the revelation that it will be a Verizon exclusive in the US.

The science bit

The Nexus Prime will be 9mm thick and will feature a 4.65-inch curved glass screen capable of 1280 x 720-pixel Super AMOLED HD.

It'll be powered by a TI OMAP 4460 dual-core Cortex A9 processor clocked at 1.2GHz with 1GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage.

A 5-megapixel camera is on the back while a 1.3-megapixel features on the front. It has 1080p HD video capture support.

A 1,750 mAh battery powers the phone, which depending on your carrier will boast either LTE/HSPA.
