CEOs and general counsels from both companies will meet within the next 90 days to work on a resolution as ordered by US district court judge Lucy Koh.
We need to talk
"Samsung and Apple have agreed to participate in a magistrate judge settlement conference," said Samsung in an email received by the BBC.
"This settlement conference will take place within 90 days, with the presence of each party's chief executive officer and general counsel."
Apple claims Samsung has infringed design patents with its Android smartphones and tablets relating to both iPad and iPhone, as well as an additional list-scrolling software patent.
The Cupertino giant's request to stop the sale of four Samsung products in the US including he Galaxy S 4G, Infuse 4G, Droid Charge, and Galaxy Tab 10.1 was blocked by Koh back in December, with the two parties now finally looking to drag the disputes out of court.
