The International Trading Commission found HTC guilty of infringing two of Apples patents last month. Cue HTCs fight back this month with news that the Taiwan-based company is seeking reparations from Apple for allegedly plagiarising three of its patents.
The contested patents deal with wi-fi networking features and PDA and mobile functionality. You can see them here: US Patent 7417944, 7672219, 7765414
In patent law no one can hear you scream
"We are taking this action against Apple to protect our intellectual property, our industry partners, and most importantly our customers that use HTC phones," said Grace Lei of HTC Corporation.
"This is the 3rd case before the ITC in which Apple is infringing our intellectual property. Apple needs to stop its infringement of our patented inventions in its products."
The patent wars rage on for all to see, as Googles multi-million dollar purchase of Motorola Mobility patents shows how far some companies will go to avoid triggering a patent battle.
