Building on what it hopes is a growing trend for card trading games in the west, DeNA has partnered with Japanese social studio gloop to bring Legend Cards to Mobage on Android in the US.
The deal, brokered by DeNA subsidiary ngmoco, follows the success of card battler Rage of Bahamut, which managed to top both the App Store and Google Play's top grossing charts in the US.
Legend Cards itself boasts 1.5 million users in Japan, with DeNA pitching it as "the next highly anticipated trading card game to hit the North American market."
A real legend
"We are always looking to expand our lineup with premium titles that have universal appeal," said ngmoco CEO and DeNA director Neil Young.
"Trading card games are a huge phenomenon in Japan, and we are leading the charge in bringing top hits like Legend Cards to players worldwide."
The gloops deal signifies the distinctly different strategies adopted by DeNA and its main rival GREE in their respective attempts to make a mark in the west.
While DeNA is keen to build audiences for games that have proven themselves in Japan offering western gamers what are perceived to be unique' titles in the process - GREE has focused more on securing the support of developers based in the US and Europe, delivering already recognised franchises for its global platform.
Legend Cards will also hit Mobage for iOS at a later date.
