Bring your friends, buy virtual goods

Aurora Feint 3 is the first title to use OpenFeint X social components
With ngmoco up and running on iPad with Plus+ enabled online games such as We Rule and Godfinger, and Scoreloop's new monetisation tools launched with Parachute Panic HD, rival social gaming network OpenFeint has been demonstrating its worth on the new platform too.

It's just launched its free-to-play massively multi-player social game Aurora Feint 3 for iPad, which uses components of the new OpenFeint X technology.

Building on top of the current OpenFeint network for iPhone and iPod touch, OpenFeint X includes features so players can invite their friends to play, as well as supporting the sale of virtual goods.

Testing, testing

"With Aurora Feint 3 we've delivered on two of our core goals: developing a beautiful, multi-chapter MMO for our players, and deploying a free-to-play virtual goods-based version of OpenFeint," said Jason Citron, co-founder and CEO of Aurora Feint.

"This game integrates core components of OpenFeint X and gives us a chance to test and refine these features in a live game before releasing them to the rest of the OpenFeint developer community."

Currently OpenFeint doesn't support iPad as the SDK is being tweaked, so hopefully the release of Aurora Feint 3 will provide solid feedback to get the technology rolled out to the wider development community.
