Hamburg's Reeperbahn Festival announces its first game event
Anything SXSW can do, Hamburg can do with bells on.

That seems to be the attitude along its famous Reeperbahn when it comes to the area's annual music, culture and arts festival.

For the first time, in 2013 the four-day event is getting a standalone games conference

This will focus on free-to-play and mobile games.

Far and wide

Making the most of the local talent in the city (and the country), developers such as Fishlabs, Xyrality, Threaks and Goodgame Studios will be attending and talking.

International presence comes from the likes of King's mobile guru Tommy Palm, Chartboost's Pepe Agell, PlayHaven's Ville Heijari, and NativeX's Ben Sipe.

Industry consultant Nicholas Lovell will kick off the event with a keynote, while PocketGamer co-founder Chris James will be roaming the streets.

"We're looking forward to a wide range of interesting and entertaining contributions - and it all happens in the context of a one-of-a-kind cultural event in the most beautiful city in the world," points out Fishlabs' CEO Michael Schade.
