Imangi Studios claims Temple Run 2 has already "cemented its place in history", with the game having surpassed 50 million downloads within 13 days of launch.
Such a figure has led the studio to brand it mobile's fastest growing game of all time, toppling the previous record holder Rovio's Angry Birds Space, which amassed 50 million downloads within its first 35 days on sale in the process.
Running away with it
"Temple Run has evolved into something so much bigger than us," says Keith Shepherd, co-founder of Imangi.
"The game has performed beyond our wildest dreams, and we are thrilled that gamers and fans have embraced Temple Run 2 in such a short period of time."
Breaking the figures down, Imangi claims 6 million downloads has been made on iOS within its first 24 hours. That total further soared when the game hit Google Play and Amazon's Appstore for Android.
The title currently boasts a daily average download rate of 3.85 million, putting it comfortably ahead of Angry Birds Space's launch average of 1.43 million downloads a day.
