Unity signs up GameAnalytics for free analytics for developers

Two parties 'democratising development'

Unity signs up GameAnalytics for free analytics for developers

Copenhagen-based analytics provider GameAnalytics has announced a partnership with Unity Technologies to bring its tools to the Unity Asset Store.

This move, which essentially opens up GameAnalytics tools to Unity developers free of charge, is a natural one for GameAnalytics, which is no stranger to giving its data away.

No doubt boosted by the firm's flexible pricing model, GameAnalytics now supports almost 4,000 games and tracks more than 30 million new players each month.

Uniting for a common goal

Speaking on the decision to bring its tools to Unity developers free of charge, GameAnalytics CEO Morten E. Wulff remarked that the two companies were similar at a very fundamental level.

"During the last nine years, Unity has truly managed to democratise game development for the creative teams," detailed Wulff.

"GameAnalytics is on a mission to follow up from where the Unity engine ends and enable game developers of all sizes to monitor and optimize everything easily, from user acquisition to game design based on hard facts."

For Unity's part, CEO David Helgason was keen to highlight the line that the integration between the two companies will be a boon for large and small studios alike.

"GameAnalytics has been committed to bringing analytics to the Unity community from the day they started the company," he added.

"Analytics is an important part of launching a successful game and with GameAnalytics working with us in the Unity Asset Store Online Services Program, that will be easier than ever for development studios of all sizes."
