iPhone and iPod touch application tracking service AppShopper today shows that Apple has so far approved over 100,000 apps and games for its handheld devices.
Although this number is dulled slightly by the fact that not all of these applications are currently available, it's still another impressive milestone for Apple to add to its increasing list of achievements over the last 18 months.
Currently, the service shows around 93,000 applications are actually available on the App Store at this moment, equating to an average of each application being downloaded 21,000 times by the end of September, when Apple clocked up 2 billion downloads.
We'll undoubtedly see a similar news item this side of Christmas when Apple publishes another few thousand apps and tops the 100,000 mark again with available applications.
