Zynga sees mobile daily active users jump 40% in March to 21 million

Claims it's more organic growth than Draw Something

Zynga sees mobile daily active users jump 40% in March to 21 million
Further to its official announcement of its Q1 FY12 financials and overall user figures, Zynga has revealed more detail in its analysts call.

Compared to 15 million mobile daily active users in February, that number's now up to 21 million at the end of March.

Bolt on

The obvious reason for such a jump is that Zynga added Draw Something to its roster during the quarter.

It's done over 50 million downloads, but it's not clear how many of those users Zynga included in its figures given that the deal was closed in late March.

COO John Schappert said the majority of growth came from Words With Friends, Scramble With Friends and Zynga Poker.

The latter is doing particularly well on Android, finally hitting the US top grossing chart during the quarter.

Triple whammy

Still, a majority can be as low as 51 percent.

Either way, it appears that Zynga is experiencing good growth on mobile, organically and from acquisitions.

Of course, it's also fuelling this with large marketing spends, but as it's got $1.5 billion in cash, we don't expect that to change anytime soon.
