Oh, and he held down a job as "games evangelist" at Google, too, after flogging them his in-game advertising company.
On Friday, he was interviewed on-stage at the SD Forum games conference in California, and according to VentureBeat's write-up, had some positive words for iPhone gaming.
"I think the iPhone has been a phenomenal development. A number of companies are developing product for that. It's a great platform. A major company with a handheld device missed the boat because they should have done what Apple did. Distribution, ease of development and cost. Handheld Games of Seattle is making iPhone games and they're making money. It's a small business."
The handheld device comment is a pretty clear allusion to Sony and its PSP.
Of course, the question now is whether Sony and Nintendo can fend off competition from the iPhone by ramping up their own platforms' distribution, ease of development and cost.
