At first glance 4 per cent might not sound like much, but a new report from Nielsen shows that's the amount of market share the iPhone now enjoys in the US, and is no small number for a single device.
This year, it seems iPhone just topped out the previous leader, the BlackBerry 8300, which this year has dropped to a very close second with 3.7 per cent.
Another long standing resident of the most used mobile phones is the Motorola V3, still holding a very respectable 2.3 per cent share of the US market.
What's also interesting is the increasing number of smart and feature-rich phones we're seeing in Nielsen's annual charts, with the LG Voyager, BlackBerry 8300 series, BlackBerry Storm and, of course, the iPhone all placing in the top 10.
