Here comes one of those App Store number press releases. Namco Networks has announced its games have been download over 23 million times since the store launched in June 2008.
Telling however it doesn't break this down into paid and free games, merely noting that the company is averaging 36,450 downloads a day.
In comparison, indie developers Bolt Creative and Firemint have each sold 2 million units of their respective games Pocket God and Flight Control, while Illusion Labs says its game Labyrinth has been downloaded 10 million times (free and paid).
Gameloft announced 10 million paid iPhone and iPod touch game sales last year.
Back to Namco however.
It has 24 games on the App Store including Ace Combat Xi, Galaga, Garters & Ghouls, Isaac Newton's Gravity and various versions of Pac-Man, and plans to release a further 20 titles during 2010.
"With over 100,000 applications available and three billion downloaded apps, the App Store is booming," said Jonathan Kromrey, general manager of Apple Games for Namco Networks.
"Not only are we excited that our worldwide audience is checking out Namco's premium iPhone content, but that consumers are coming back for more."
