Talking Point: Will hardcore iPhone games be popular?
It's no secret that Apple is planning to introduce a $19.99 premium games section on its App Store, targeted at bigger console-style games with high production values.

However, Digital Chocolate boss Trip Hawkins told us earlier this week that he thinks any such category will remain a niche, given that "at least 95 per cent of iPhone users are not hardcore gamers, and they don't care about those brands".

So what do you think? Today's Talking Point focuses on the issue of hardcore iPhone games, of which we've already seen or heard about a few (Gameloft's Hero of Sparta, for example, or EA Mobile's upcoming Need For Speed: Undercover).

How popular do you think hardcore games will be on the iPhone? Will gamers be happy to stump up $19.99 for them? And how many developers and publishers will have the resources to make them?

Post your comments, and let's get the discussion underway!
