Rumours are abound that an internal document sent around the Sprint offices suggest the long awaited Palm Pre will be launched on June 7th - the day before Apple delivers its keynote speech at this years Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).
The only established suggestion of a release date is the first half of 2009, but that window is rapidly closing, which lends strength to the conspiracy that Palm has an aggressive promotional tactic prepared.
Launching the day before Apples keynote could steal some serious thunder from the iPhone manufacturer, though it could just as easily backfire on Palm.
Should Apple indeed reveal new iPhone hardware, as seems likely, Apple would undoubtedly use the improvements as ammunition against the Pre, and considering how well established the iPhone is this could stick a knife in the ribs of Palms new handset when its just a day old.
But we love a good scrap, so lets hope June sees skin and hair flying in all direction from the smartphone contenders.
