Chinese mobile internet service company KongZhong has just released its first quarter revenue figures, which have grown to push the company to become mainland China's premier mobile game developer and publisher.
Year-on-year, KongZhong recorded a 38 per cent increase for the first quarter, with mobile gaming accounting for 17 per cent of total revenue - up from 10 per cent in the previous quarter.
This is a huge jump in mobile gaming activity, thanks in no small part to the huge increase in visitors to the company's web and WAP portals, which measured an average of three million unique visitors per day.
It's also pioneered China's first Flash Lite mobile game community, a new mobile avatar system, China's first mobile social game Nong Chang Da Heng, and it begun to generate revenues based on its 'Traffic to Transaction' strategy which leverages Kong.net's mobile-based virtual currency system.
KongZhong chairman Lei Lei Wang said he hopes to build on this success by expanding the company's mobile distribution channels, which hopefully means bringing its products and expertise to new territories.
