Since it was revealed that the iPhone 3G S boasts a PowerVR SGX graphics chip, we've all been wondering whether or not we're likely to see any particular gaming improvements on the new handset.
iPhone Alley has dug up a video demo of the PowerVR SGX in operation on a pre-production build of the UK-made Pandora system, and it's undeniably impressive for a mobile system.
It's also quite clear that the iPhone 3G S packs a far more powerful punch thanks to this graphics processor. The lighting and shader effects are apparently beyond the capabilities of the iPhone 3G, and neither are the shadows and distortion effects.
Whether or not developers will be maling much use of the additional graphics boost at the expense of alienating the millions of 3G users out there remains to be seen, but evidently the option's there should they choose to do so.
