South Korean electronics giant LG has reported an all-time sales record for the second quarter of 2009.
Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, the company put its increased sales - despite the declining global economy - down to shifting a record number of mobile handsets.
Explaining its sales and promotion technique, LG reveals that it employs an executive for every one of its 50 or so different handsets, thereby ensuring it can adjust quickly to market demands while spreading the load of responsibilities more efficiently.
The company, which is the world's third-largest handset manufacturer, sold an impressive 29.8 2 million phones in the second quarter - a 7.8 per cent increase year on year.
LG was careful to point out that it expects the mobile phone market to fall by 6 per cent in the third quarter, however, though it still expects to see growth along the high end smartphone devices.
