It's something of a surprise that mobile game developer Million-2-1 has broken away from its online gambling remit and jumped into the iPhone's App Store with Ceopatra.
Gambling for money isn't currently allowed by Apple, meaning this iPhone adaptation of the developer's real-life slot machines is just for fun. Mobile-Ent.biz reports that the application has been put together by the designers of the original gambling hardware, and just gone on sale at the App Store.
Despite it being quite a divergence in how it brings in the revenue, building a presence and gamer base on the iPhone is still a wise move for Million-2-1.
Should Apple relax its rules on gambling, it'll be in a position to immediately exploit the micro-transactions and payouts, and can also use its slot machine simulators to encourage players over to its iPhone-optimised web games and mobile titles.
