UK mobile publisher Player One has been acquired by the ROK Entertainment Group [OTCBB: ROKE] for an undisclosed amount.
Player One specialises in bringing sporting licenses such as Jensen Button's Grand Prix Racing, Ernie Els's Golf, and Frankie Dettori's Horse Racing to mobile via its Player One Sports label.
It's also releasing Freddie Flintoff's Powerplay Cricket on Nintendo DS later in 2009, and has plans for a range of games for Sony's PSP Mini program in early 2010.
It joins a portfolio of technology companies held under the ROK umbrella, including streaming mobile TV, music, video on demands and other entertainment services.
Headquartered in Wolverhampton, ROK is floated on the US Over the Counter securities market.
Jonathan Kendrick, chairman and CEO of ROK said, "Mobile gaming is proving to be evermore popular worldwide, so we are delighted to add Player One to our portfolio of revenue-generating mobile products and we look forward very much to the successful deployment of their existing library of world-class mobile games as well as developing new games, going forward."
