Data from Millennial Media and analytics firm Mobclix has revealed that the iPhone's App Store is clocking up more than 100 million game and application downloads per month from its catalogue of over 100,000 active apps.
This figure shows a stark contrast to Google's Android platform, which is currently enjoying around 20 million downloads per month, while RIM's BlackBerry clocks up just 300,000.
These figures equate to an average of 11 applications downloaded each month by iPhone users: triple that of Android users and six times as many as each BlackBerry user.
Android games are leading in terms of mobile advert click-throughs, however, suggesting free, branded and ad-supported games are more successful on Google's operating system. That said, applications such as books, navigation and social networking see a higher rate of in-app clicks on the iPhone.
