The Mobile World Congress is expected to be Microsoft's official soapbox for announcing the features of its long-awaited Windows Mobile 7 platform, though PPCGeeks claims to have procured a features list detailing what we can expect from the new smartphone OS.
A new user interface codename Metro is said to be included, which will offer a similar styling to the Zune HD. This does tie in nicely with the expectations of Zune integration featuring heavily not only in WinMo but across all Microsoft's products.
This will also include full Xbox 360 integration, and the replacing of Active Sync with the Zune sync system.
Flash apparently won't be ready on launch, though Microsoft's counterpart framework Silverlight will be built in from day one.
And all of this is apparently well ahead of schedule, with Windows Mobile 7-equipped phones expected as early as September. Hopefully we'll get some official confirmation of all this at the Mobile World Congress which kicks off next Monday, February 15th.
