Further to AdMob's news about its enhanced cross-platform mobile advertising SDK, the company has also come up with some statistics about how developers are dealing with device fragmentation.
It found 31 percent of developers in its network are working across multiple mobile platforms and 47 percent said they plan on developing on more than one platform in the next six months.
And the traffic is going multiple ways.
More than 70 percent of iPhone developers plan to develop for Android over the next six months and 48 percent of Android developers plan to develop for iPhone.
Developers said they were generally satisfied with the success of their applications with 64 percent rating their app "very" or "somewhat" successful. Developers were most satisfied with iPhone and least satisfied with BlackBerry.
Demonstrating the relative inexperience of the industry however, only 51 percent of developers have been making mobile apps for more than a year, and 58 percent of developers said they are still creating mobile web sites.
