With over 300,000 pieces of consumer electronics worth at least $500 sold in 24 hours, it's hard to see the iPad launch as being anything other than a success, for Apple at least.
Other companies doing well out of it include Firemint, EA Mobile, PopCap, Gameloft and Illusion Labs; exactly who's already been doing well out of iPhone in fact.
The smaller indie developers who released the bulk of launch games haven't been so blessed however. One such is French studio Godzilab, whose innovative iBlast Moki was one of the top reviewed games of 2009.
The iPad version has sold "a bit less than 100 copies" however.
Look on the bright side
Maybe it's not a huge surprise, as the iPhone version was more successful in Europe than the US, and the iPad release hasn't been featured by Apple; again something that boosted sales of the original.
Still, the studio's not downcast.
"Even if the sales don't justify the time spent on the development yet, we are strong believers in the iPad and we are planning on working on future updates of iBlast Moki HD," the company reports on its blog.
"We think the iPad has a great potential and is bringing new perspective of gameplay that we will be taking advantage of."
