Just a couple of months after LemonQuest announced it was selling its entire back catalogue of Java games, it appears the company may well have closed its doors.
At the time, the Spanish publisher claimed it was selling its assets to enable it to focus on online PC and mobile games, although an update to the company's website which now features nothing more than a lemon with tears streaming from its eyes seems to suggest it may be all over for the firm.
LemonQuest's decision to move away from Java development followed similar moves made by the likes of Glu Mobile and I-play; smartphones quickly becoming the format of choice for the major studios.
The firm already seemed to be moving away from Java back in 2009, although ironically CEO and founder Ignacio Cavero did tell PocketGamer.biz he believed some of the smaller studios wouldn't be able to make the step forward required to focus on iPhone.
He added, "But the good thing about small companies like LemonQuest is we are dynamic, and we can move very fast. The decision is taken in one room with three people. So the big ones will always be there, but smaller companies have to take advantage."
