Compared to market leader GetJar, which is handling around 3 million downloads per day, Nokia's Ovi Store still has some way to go if it wants to be top dog.
As it rolls out to more territories and releases more phones however, growth is certainly coming.
Up from 1 million apps per day in December 2009 and 1.5 million per day at the start of March, the current total is 1.6 million per day.
Nokia says the 'average active user' (whatever one of those is) downloads 8.5 apps per month.

More significant however is its geographical spread.
Most active countries on the Ovi Store are (in alphabetical order) China, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the UK, and Vietnam.
Ovi Store is supported by 66 operators in 19 countries, with two thirds of customers choosing mobile billing (where available) as their favoured option when buying content.
Nokia says this global rollout reflects its commitment to localisation with more than 90 percent of users able to access the store in their own language.
