The latest splash in the ongoing wave of app stores releases is T-Mobile's extension of its Softwareload mobile portal to the UK.
Technically, the UK site went live for PC downloads at the end of 2009, but now the mobile site is open, in terms of the fashionable beta status at least.
Originally launched in Germany for PC content, where it has 1.5 million registered users, Softwareload's mobile offering enables you to download over 15,000 applications, either direct from your mobile browser, or sideloaded via your PC and USB.
The store contains apps compatible with BlackBerry, Palm, Symbian, Windows Mobile and PocketPC devices, including free titles.
Softwareload, which is owned by Deutsche Telekom, also has a 12-month download guarantee, which means that all purchases are stored online in case you want to install them on new hardware during that period.
Payment methods include PayPal, Visa, Mastercard and American Express.
The mobile website can be found m.softwareload.com, or for PC at Softwareload.co.uk.
